Jigsaw RHE at Featherstone Primary School

At Featherstone Primary School, we use the Jigsaw PSHE and RHE programme to deliver a high-quality, age-appropriate Relationships and Health Education (RHE) curriculum. Jigsaw provides a carefully sequenced, progressive approach that supports children’s personal development, wellbeing, safety and understanding of relationships, while meeting all statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education.

Through Jigsaw, children develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in modern society. Lessons promote emotional literacy, resilience, positive mental health, respectful relationships and healthy lifestyles. The programme encourages children to understand and manage their feelings, celebrate diversity, stay safe both online and offline, and make informed choices about their wellbeing.

The curriculum is organised into six half-termly themes:

• Being Me in My World
• Celebrating Difference
• Dreams and Goals
• Healthy Me
• Relationships
• Changing Me

Each theme builds upon previous learning as children move through the school, ensuring that topics are revisited at an appropriate level as their understanding develops.
